When frustration arises, day 1

1/27/23

I just put my brush down and walked away from a watercolor piece that I have spent 8 hours working on.

It feels like it has been a really long time since I have worked on a piece that I just flat out don’t like. It isn’t the composition, it isn’t the media, so what is it? I think it is just frustration. Frustration arises for me when the image just isn’t translating what is in my mind onto the paper.

How many of us have been here before? Probably many artists arrive at this point for different reasons. Yet the question arises, when do I chuck it in the trash?

Follow my process in the next segment.
